Information About Melt-Blown Polyester Nonwoven Fabric

The process of manufacturing thin sheets of nonwoven fibers is melt blowing. This is a technique by which polymer melt is forced out by tiny nozzles and exposed to blowing gas in high-speed. The polymer which is extruded forms a non-woven polymer sheet due to the gas presence. In the melt blowing process, various polymers are used as raw materials. It starts with polymer resin and ends with self-bonded fabric with greater properties.  Some common polymers used are polyesters, polystyrenes, polypropylene, and polyamides. If you compare, the fiber obtained by this process is ultra-fine than the fibers obtained by other processes of manufacturing like spun bound. By this process, the obtained filaments are generally of 2-5 microns size. After modification, it can be reduced up to 1 micron as well. The obtained nonwoven fabric is durable and very soft due to the filament's fine size. Due to softness, China melt blown BFE fabric is in high demand for baby sanitary products. The melt-blown fabric is famous for its high insulating and good barrier properties. These properties make them useful in many applications.

Properties, applications, and uses:

The melt brown fabrics have many special properties like thermal insulation, strength, bacterial barrier, absorbency, sterility, wash-ability, cushioning, and liquid repellence. These fabrics are used highly used in those products that are required to maintain hygiene like filters, masks, hair caps, and wiping cloths. One of the leading application fields of the polyester nonwoven fabric is feminine care products and disposable diapers.  They are used as a component of apparels, industrial, home furnishings, engineering materials, consumer goods, and health care. Their exclusive properties coupled with low cost make them high in the market. The melt-blown polyester nonwoven fabric has high demand and became popular in recent few years due to their properties. The compressed air is used in the manufacturing of melt-blown polyester nonwoven fabric to make durable, soft, high strength and high absorbent, etc. Due to its layering and compression, this fabric is best for masks as it is a great bacterial barrier.
